United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Firenze Red
Anything to look out for

Hi all,

First off apologies if this is in the wrong section, please steer me if so.

Just placed an order (due next Friday) on the above 2013 HSE Lux. I’m new to a fl2 and any tips or advice on what to look for, check has been already done, or any preventative maintenance I should be looking to do imminently based on the current mileage. This would be massively appreciated. The car has covered 68k and has had LRSH up until June of last year

Thanks again Smile

My previous car, a 2009 HSE was bought new and changed at 30K miles.

I keep my eye on it on the DVLA mot website and it is now getting advisories for corrosion underneath.

So I would recommend checking underneath and undersealing to preserve the vehicle.

Get new oil in the rear diff is a good starting point, do it yourself it’s easy to carry out then you know for sure it’s been done. FSH looks good in a book but has it really been done ?

Mine was never used for towing and never off-road (in my ownership) indeed well maintained and serviced, etc

IIRC 7 years is the now recommended time limit - it was 10 but it has been reduced, Jules

Hello mate, I have the exact same year/ spec and have owned for three years. Things which have gone wrong, EGR valve at 55k, (£350 at independent) rear of side door actuator (£160 independent) and just had the timing belt/ water pump /disks and pads (£1100) done as she just turned 74000k. Only car I’ve ever owned two of. Smile
