FR2 HSE weak FM radio reception

Can anyone help. Our HSE has gradually become worse and worse on Fm reception to the point where most stations hiss and crackle. Any ideas?

The antenna is part of the right hand rear side window, check/clean the connector. A snap on connector at the top of the glass.
