I've had to 'fess up. So much for the Christmas surprise. Rolling Eyes They were on a special for £250 instead of £350 everywhere else. £100 saving if she liked them and they fitted, £250 wasted if they didn't fit or she didn't like 'em. Could send them back immediately if unwanted but if I waited till Christmas Day and no good.......I don't even want to think about it! Thud

Oh, and made in Portugal on the label.

BTW, she liked 'em. Now I've got to get another surprise pressie. Big Cry Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Seeland brand is Danish and not a John Norris own brand,it's widely available throughout the UK.Have used this brand of clothing and boots and found them OK.
Not a fan of John Norris either after the wife had a rather s nooty remark from a salesperson when she went in to enquire about ladies trousers.

Didn't know that, you learn something new every day. Thumbs Up ref John Norris, I've never had a problem but I suppose everyone has an off day. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Well, that was short lived! Was just going to put them in the loft last night and leave them there for Christmas when I had another look at them. I noticed something different about the quality of one of them. The lower strap was all curley and different from the other side.

Good boot

Bad boot

Not what you'd expect for a £350 pair of boots (Okay, I only paid £250 for them which is why I bought them early).

Phoned up the place I bought them from and they said they couldn't exchange them for another pair as that was their last pair and Le Chameau don't make them anymore. Checked with LC and they were right - they stopped making them and the supply is just about exhausted now. They're sending a courier to pick them up on Thursday and I'm getting my money back. So much for getting Christmas out of the way early! Oh well, at least I've still got three months to get something else! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Been trying to remember the name of the company and it has finally come to me.

Ariat make absolutely amazing boots. My wife has a pair. Technically riding/horse work boots, of which she does none of, but very very comfortable, hard wearing and reasonably priced. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

Yay! 25% off nothing. Why, that's....nothing! Laughing

Sod it, just ordered a pair of Dubarry Longfords. Not cheap, not on sale, but with my financial year ending this month I'm having a spend-up. Boots are 'protective wear' aren't they? Wink Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

FFS! How much do you have to spend to get a well made pair of boots these days? Dubarrys duly arrived, wifey put them on, fitted perfectly but looked odd. Maybe it's me being fussy but I think the quality of finish on a pair of boots costing £349 is appalling. They're going back too!
