Women's Wellies or boots

The wife's Barbours have developed a slight leak so thinking of replacing them

Barbours have lasted just about 2 years

Hunter have supposedly gone down hill due to change in manufacturing

le chameau or Dubarry have a good name but price tag to match

Wanting waterproof, ladies fit not the £20 dunlops look

Suggestions welcome [/img] Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Aigle, Chameau quality, but lower priced. I think the gun shop in Brighouse stocks them , Also look up John Norris of Penrith, they have an own brand " Seeland" and do some pretty decent boots at a fair price. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Buy cheap, buy twice! Don't waste your money on Hunters - they're mainly fashion items. The wife's Hunters lasted barely one year before they started leaking and I had a pair that lasted barely longer than that. Nowdays, I have two pairs of Aigles - one 'normal' pair and one neoprene insulated pair for cold weather. My wife has a pair of Le Chameau wellies and a pair of leather waterproof Dubarry Galway boots. As you know, you do a lot of muddy/all weather walking with a cocker and none of the 'quality' boots have ever let us down. Just put them down to a business expense - after all, they're protective wear, aren't they? Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Damn! This thread got me looking and I found a pair of Le Chameau leather riding boots at a bargain price of £100 off the rrp. Just ordered them so that's the wife's Chrismas pressie sorted nearly 4 months early! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Seeland brand is Danish and not a John Norris own brand,it's widely available throughout the UK.Have used this brand of clothing and boots and found them OK.
Not a fan of John Norris either after the wife had a rather snooty remark from a salesperson when she went in to enquire about ladies trousers. 11 GS Bali Blue
07 GS FL2. Usually muddy. Gone
Numerous LRs since 1963

Probably too late but Muck Boots are very good. Not cheap, but good. Learned to drive in 2011.
Bought a Micra - great little car
"Upgraded" to Kia Sportage - hated it
Proper upgrade to FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - tailgate paint issues, fuel gauge rewire, transfer box failure at 36k miles, clutch at 60k
Reconditioned diff at 70k ish
Sold at 84k and now on a DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental

Horses for courses ..but have bought Dubarry twice and the stitching and leather has gone " well madam/ sir they are a fashion boot" so don't go walking dogs with them, and I am told horse urine will kill them on the spot so don't go in a stable .
Bought Le Chameau £300 shooting boots at Badminton and got replacements after 14 months as stitching went, only wore them dog walks on the flat.
Le C boots made in Romania not hand made in France as you imagined.Any way no quibble 2 year guarantee and new pair sent quickly from Brockleys when the toe cap stitching went awol.
Will see how new ones last but £/€ is not a guarantee for quality....

I agree £10 or £200 you catch them of a sharp rock or stick stand on a nail, they leave through the hole

The wife's Burrberrys I can't see where they leave, might have to fill with water and look for a drip and a dab a wetsuit sealant I have might just do the job, though it will take a while to dry out then Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Will be interesting to see how the Joules go - my wife bought a pair and they leaked from day 1. Took them back and got them replaced. Leaked as well. Safe to say they were fashion wellies.

And if Muck Boots came in half sizes I'd be wearing them. Lovely boots but I fall in between 2 sizes and £80 is too much for a pair of boots that don't fit perfectly. Learned to drive in 2011.
