In answer to your question "is that all I need?" don't forget you also need a pair of cross bars and the Landrover ones are very wide which makes fitting some roofboxes etc very difficult Thumbs Up

Hi have been reading this thread with great interest...it has certainly opened my eyes to some potential pitfalls in my plan to buy a roof box, so glad I checked on here before rushing out and likely cocking it up!
Like the look of the box you have , was concerned as to the security of this form of fitting (the feet in the door frame) have you encountered any issues in using the box in this configuration?
also what is the height of the freelander with box fitted measured ground to highest point (I have an underground carpark looming mostly 2m15 although a small number of spaces on the entrance and exit floors have 2m60...gamble whetehr any are free or not when we turn up!

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black

this is sending my head spinning as I've never had roof bars before so excuse me if this is a daft question:

If I got these (Cross Bars): http://thuleonline.co.uk/index.php?route=p...t_id=16442

would they slot into the existing LR Roof Rails (Front to back) OR do I need a fitting kit? The word "Feet" confuses me as I don't want them to fit into the roof, nor sit atop the existing rails - I want them to slot into the existing rails if that makes sense?

Any help and/or links would be greatly appreciated.
