I asked about the roof bars last week and they are not yet available and the price is yet to be announced. My dealer said he would contact me when he knew the prices...

I too was asking about roof rails and cross bars. I was told that the rails are still being tested to get type approval.... no estimate of time scale ...

According to the Sept 2006 accessories price list, the cross bar kit LR002417 is 120 GB Pounds plus tax of 21 GBP. There is no mention of the raised roof rails.

Someone has obtained a set somehow, I saw them the other day. So they must be available now. Unless it was a press car or something?
It looked like it had one crossbar fitted but it was quite low down, below the top of the rails?

Roofbars are now listed for the FL2 on the Thule website if anyone's interested - looks like they've finally sorted them out - quicker than LR as well. Just in time for my hols in Lakes. Thumbs Up

If you mean : Footpack 755 & Bar 761/861
I have asked this at the Dutch distributor and they have confirmed that this would NOT work.

It's easy to get mixed up between roof rails and roof bars - the rails run along each side of the roof, from front-to-back. The bars run across the roof from one side to the other, and attach to the roof rails.

At the moment, you can buy the roof bars, but that's not much good as you can't get the roof rails to attach them to! I've heard that the current rails have noise issues, and this is what's delaying them.
