United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Stornoway Grey

I have a set of 16", due to the recommended tyre size 215x75x16 being unpopular on 4x4 most manufacturers dropped the size. The only one's available as far as I'm aware and been told, is Continental 4x4 Contact M+S.

Lots of van tyres in this size, but was advised the tyre walls are to stiff for off road use. I can confirm there is very little clearance between the inside of the wheel rim and brake callipers, if I was buying wheels for off road I'd compromise and get a set of 17", at least it will give a little extra clearance and more tyre selections.

That said I love the 16" and never had any problems off road and will be putting these back on for the winter.

My previous Freelander was an S with 16" wheels. Obtaining tyres wasn't easy and often there was only one option when searching on tyre websites - the Goodyear Wrangler being the main one.

The 16" has a 75 profile (isn't a bog standard tyre an 80% profile?) which gives a comfortable ride and it is true there isn't much clearance between the inside of the rim and the brake callipers... such that the numpty who balanced one of the wheels once stuck weights on the inside and as I drove off a loud screech was heard as they got wiped off by the calliper! 2016 BMW X3 30d SE in red

Thanks for all the replies
I Was thinking 245/75/16 clearly this is not going to fit on the standard 16 inch wheel
Just one more of my silly ideas
