Car Polishes and Sealants - G|Techniq

I have read many posts on the subject of cleaning our pride and joys, i.e. the Freelander and have decided to purchase some GTechniq products, but my dilemma is which ones?

All of their products, to the untrained eye such as mine, look very similar. My car is new and I have only waxed it once since I bought it in May, so the paintwork is unblemished, but what products should I go for in the range.

I was thinking the

G Wash
P1 Polish
C6 Matte Dash
and either
C2V3
or
C1.5v2 Silo Seal

I could buy loads more, if I had the money, lol, but can someone who uses this stuff point me toward what I need as the basics for a long-lasting clean and shiney Freely? Joanne

Evening, I know this probably won't help as you are asking for specific product advice, but having spent the last 6 months on the detailing world forum, using a few products, I'm now a big fan of the 'Poorboys' and 'Auto Finesse' products using the 'Polished Bliss' website to buy them from.

Pre-wash : ValetPro Advanced Neutral Snowfoam - £30 for 5 litres
Shampoo & wheel cleaner - Muc-off via Screwfix offers
Tar Remover - Autosmart Tardis - depends how much you buy
Cleanser and swirl filler - Poorboys Black Hole (for darker vehicles) White Diamond for Lighter. - £12 for 500ml
Wax - Bilt Hamber Finis Wax - £29 but will last years and years
Top Up - Poorboys QD+ (after each wash) - £12
Meguires Endurance Tyre Gel - £9

The 'Black Hole' and 'Finis' combo gives an unbeleivable wet look slick shine, topped up with QD+ people will comment!!

I've also got a dual action machine polisher and the Auto Finesse pads and polishes.

It's really each to their own with this subject, you will end up with all sorts of lotions and potions but.....have a nosey on www.detailingworld.com and you will be enlightened and skint!!

I'm no expert, I'm self taught and happy with the finish I get for a few hours work. 2013 FL2 - Black Edition Auto

If your buying from the GTechniq shop try joining detailingworld and pm them (Rob) you should get a discount code added to their shop login ( you need to have registered at the shop first)

I really like their G-wash and will buy some more soon,

Not used the Matt dash myself

c1.5 silo seal I have been using it for a while now but my brother just bought the c2v3 which has a greater longevity about 8 month so they say which is longer than c1.5

Love the stuff myself

If anyone is passing Garforth and would like litre of turtlewax car shampoo bring a bottles have abou 25L in the garage that I never use Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thank you both for the information its all really useful.

Think I have for now though settled on GTechniq for a couple of bits and as Jimski says I will probably end up with even more of a collection of items as time goes on.

I too have a 5 litre bottle of Simoniz in my garage plus other well known items and if it wasn't for this forum I'd probably still be happy with them. Rolling Eyes Laughing

npinks glad you mentioned the c2v3 vs c1.5 silo seal as that was my biggest descision. I'll go with the c2v3.

Thanks for your help Joanne

Be nice to know what you think when it's done. From what I've seen online the results are excellent, but there's nothing like seeing it 1st hand. Joanne
