Changing to facelifted front bumper

I've just bought a face lift front bumper. My plan is to move the front fog lamps, headlamp washers and parking sensors from the original 2007 one. Does everything swap over relatively easily? I'm basically panicking that I'll need new fog lights etc 'cos nothing will fit. My car is an HSE 2007 model. The new bumper is just a shell with the fog lamp bezels supplied. Martin is probably snoozing....

Sorry for saying this, but you really don't do your homework and don't use search....

mav71 has a complete run down how to change a bumper, which I followed when I changed my bumper on my first freelander. His postes are great and will help you, good look. Post some photos when you've done it.

I read Mav71's posts in fact it was them that got me started looking at changing it! My question is still unanswered though (we'll I can't see it in his lists - maybe I'm just blind...). So will all the bits from the original bumper simply swap over? I can see the actual bumper itself swaps easily enough.

Ta. I'll definitely put up pics when its done. Martin is probably snoozing....

Mav bought a complete bumper with Fog Lights, Washers and Sensors already fitted. The Fog lights should be the same, you say you have the new style Bezels so that's covered. washers should be the same, as long as your new bumper has the cut outs for the sensors they will be the same. The only issue i can see is if the new bumper requires mounts for the sensors and you new bumper does not have the mounts, I know the rear bumper has mounts on the inside of the bumper to mount the sensors and these are glued in, (the mounts are glued in) but don't know if the front bumper has these mounts, perhaps someone else knows?

My replacement bumper also had fog lights, washers and sensors fitted so it was a straight swap, and I sold the old one complete. 2013 hse auto, black, almond leather, exnon lights, factory privacy glass, exhaust finisher, rear boot spoiler, mud flaps. Body door side moulding and steps.

For some reason, some front bumpers had mounts, but others didn't. But the mounts are not expensive. But everything else should swap over.

You may need to modify the hole for the washer jets as the new ones are slightly different. New ones are on eBay though and again, don't appear to be expensive. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Thanks Mav which bumper mounts do you mean? Do I need to get anything else, other than the little black plastic spats? I have a nice stainless steel cover on the towing cover of the existing bumper, do you know if this will also swap over? I really have no idea and can't find a diagram (like the ones in Haynes manuals) that shows me all the bits involved! The last bumper I changed was on a 1966 Mini...... Confused Martin is probably snoozing....

New bumper fitted today. Only additional thing to note is the removal of the rubber cowling around the radiator as it doesn't match with the new fronts grill height. We also cut off the locating mount as it doesnt match where the metal mount plate hole is, Mav already noted that. It really went easily after removing those bits. Just go to go to the dealers and get the little black deflectors that fit in front of the wheels.

To help with the upgrading I also changed the high level brake light and side repeaters to the new white plastic. It definitely looks better with the new front. Martin is probably snoozing....
