Monitor and Rear/Front Cameras to fill the cubby space

Hi guys, I'm new here and taking delivery of Freelander 2 XS tomorrow.
I've already had a look through the posts here and you seem like a great bunch of useful peeps (unlike LandyZone!).

I'm looking to fill the cubby with some form of screen, that'll show the cameras which I'd like to get fitted too.
I've seen a far few cameras around, there's one that replaces one of the number plate lights and the Kenwood CMOS-300 which looks clever.

Any ideas on either a screen that'll fit the space, or a something more advanced like a multimedia head unit may be?

I'm going to get it professionally fitted, just like to do a research first so I don't get done over!

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks, I did read that thread but cos it's from 2008 originally I thought someone might have some more up to date info.
Looks like I should be trying to find the VMS TOURING 700HD, that looks excellent.

ChrisSoutham,
The best option to fill up the cubby box is Kenwood LZ 702W. The screen has a hide away unit, so you can plug there the camera. When reverse is selected the image from the camera will show on the screen. If you want to see how Kenwood 702W looks like in the car check the pictures in my gallery.

I've opted for the Alpine INA-W910R double din to replace the Radio/CD & telephone area.
Looks really smart, with Bluetooth, iPod, DVD etc and I've added front and rear cameras which plug straight in.

Will take some pics when it's fitted. Smile

Nope it's a 2008 model.
Does the SatNav come as standard on the new XSs? It was an added extra back in 2008.
I've only just bought it, and I'm seriously impressed. It's a real pleasure to drive.

Leaves the cubby hole free to throw my iPhone into which is handy Smile

It's standard now but, personally, I'd rather have the cubby hole! Rolling Eyes

Well it's been done by the car audio guys down the road and they've done a great job.
Seems to be quite hard from what they say and required fitting the original unit in the boot so the park sensors still worked as it's all fibre optics.

Anyway it looks great and now have front and rear cameras with the Alpine INA-W910R which is the bees-knees and looks top notch with the fitted surround.

I now need nothing else on the car, it's exactly how I want it! Smile
I will post some pictures if I'm allowed?

I might invest in one of the WiFi OBD-II port diagnostic tools at some point and hook it up with the iPhone, they look really handy.

Ummmmm yes!
The double din head unit alone is £1299, plus cameras at £299/£349, labour for 2 days plus an extra subwoofer amp and various harnesses and fibre optic extensions. Came to just over £2700.
Just don't tell the wife!

You must be pleased to get the car exactly as you want it though.
