Israel 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Zermatt Silver

A land rover approved garage I use is £35 per hour, so even at that it would not take more than a day!

This is not the case.

Yes, it is a joint project between Ford and PSA Group (Peugeot / Citroen). However, having checked this at the staff at the Halewood factory, the diesel engine is actually built by Ford in their Dagenham plant, while the export only petrol engine is built at Bridgend, in Wales.

I wonder if Peuget and Citroen owners decry it for being "only" a Ford unit in the same way?

No because the versions they use are made in France! The Dagenham units are specially engineered for Land Rover's off-raod requirements with different air intake arrangements and not many Jaguars, Peugoets/ Citroens need to be able to keep their engines lubricated at 45dgrees on a slope like the LR versions are required to.
The 2.7 TDv6 unit for LR is also very different from both the PSA versions and the Jaguar versions - those units are all twin turbo, the LR version has a single turbo. It was with the 3.0ltr TDv6 that LR have that engine with 2 sequential turbos, which is still different from the PSA version How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Yes, I am aware of that! The point I was trying to make was that if we mistakenly believe that it's a Citroen unit, I wonder if they mistakenly think that there's is a Ford too Rolling Eyes

3.0 TDV6 is not sequential turbocharging. They have two turbo's of equal size, one feeding each bank. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey

I can confirm that tim is correct, the sequential turbo system is used on the 3 ltr Cleaveland. Second turbo only comes in at hard accelleration/high revs.

2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Galway Green

I have a Peugeot Boxer van, aswell as my Freelander, both got the same engine fitted, although the peugeot sadly only has 100bhp, so a bit under powered. Anyway, as I said it's a Peugeot van, and the hoses on it say Ford and have the logo on them, so I would say they're Ford engines!
