liking the jcb phone, nokia did a similar one but I broke that in 3days the screen in the outer shell was too flexible so when I squashed it against something at work the screen pressed against the lcd panel and caused a huge permanent blue spot.
Can somebody get a jcb phone and see if it will pair with the fl2? thanks in advance Laughing

If your still looking at the tougher phone CG.

"Samsung SOLID" has been released, Samsung phones seem to be okay pairing with the BT PTI in the FL2 Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Just to note that we have Samsung U600 and U700V and although they pair neither will download phone book so it's a bit 'manual'

Ive gone for a nokia 6300 in the end, Two actually one for Mrs George too, Mine will live in a rubber skin to protect it and so Mrs George doesn't pick it up by accident as our phones will be twins. Also a third I also got free as an upgrade on my mothers phone so that will be my spare if I can resist the temptation to sell it on ebay.

Please keep us informed as to how well it pairs to the car. Thumbs Up

I've just bought a Nokia 6300 to use with the PTI - works absolutely perfectly. Had a Nokia 8800 before that which worked OK but you didn't always get a ringing tone when dialling out. Tried various other Nokia phones with PTI; many phones worked OK but required you to 'manually' connect the phone to PTI system by selecting 'YES' on phone when it queried whether you wanted to connect to car. The 6300 just latches straight onto PTI without leaving your pocket, as did my 8800 but the battery life on it was dire hence its demise.

I took JIMMYM's word for it

Received my phone upgrade the other day

A LG Viewty, works with the PTi but does NOT transfer the phonebook, or call list for last called or received.

but i'm sending it back as it feels like it will not last 12 months never mind the 18 months mobile contracts are nowadays.

I will let you know if the SE K850i works when that arrives Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Anyone have any experience with a Nokia 6500 classic?

I had a Nokia 6300 which worked fantastically but was gobbled up by the overhead locker of a 737 & will never be seen again. I'd like a different phone but if I can't work out if the 6500 works before I buy one I guess I'll go for the 6300 again.

iphone,

I have just traded my trusty D3 for a nice shiny black FL2 Td4 XS, the D3 was the base model so no phone integration. I have an iphone and the dealer said you got no chance of that pairing but after a bit of fiddling it works with no problems at all.

Really pleased with the freelander.

When we swap drivers of the fl2 the green screen always asks which phone to connect to, mine or Mrs G's. Should it not pair automatically to which ever phone is in bluetooth range? If mine was the last phone paired and I jump in and drive off no probs, but if Mrs George drives it next the car wants to know which phone to pair even though my phone is nowhere near.
What is the normal range for bluetooth connection, a few feet I would have thought?

I think the range is 10meters, but its also dependent on the phone spec, also PTI looks for the last phone, so if you swap a lot it might explain why it appears to always ask which phone Thumbs Up

I think it asks each time which phone you want to pair with even if they're not in range. My wife's phone isn't even on the LR list but paired and synched the phone book no problem. She's got some old Panasonic job which is years old. 08 Santorini Black HSE manual with DAB and privacy glass
