Will this one work?

http://www.hids4u.co.uk/land-rover-discove...creen.html

The one from the states is £217. When you add postage and if you get caught for import duty, you're probably talking over £300. Big Cry Makes the one above seem like a good deal Thumbs Up

I wonder if we could get a forum bulk buy from a wholesaler in Hong Kong or China? Very Happy I'd definitely be interested.

Cheers,

Jason

You can always buy just the video cord from the US seller. Thats what I did. I purchased the GVIF from eBay and it came with the wrong video cord. Then I contacted the guy from navvideo here in the US and he sold me just the video cord. It was cheap!! Cuatro Por Cuatro

can you not just make some kind of circuit with a switch to turn of the camera and cut the nav signal :S When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Due to the high frequencies used in video signals it gets a bit complicated. A simple switch would massively degrade the image on the screen.

Found these on eBay: -

The second link doesn't look like the cable I have. So it might not be the correct one.
Take in mind that when i purchased my GVIF it said it will work on LR vehicles. I believe the Freelander is the only one that has the video connection different from other LR vehicles. Cuatro Por Cuatro

Pls, did anyone other than 4por4 succeed in installing the reverse camera, TV, audio, video etc? I am interested and would like to know all the components required and a ofcoz a detailed step-by-step instruction on how to execute this. Like my Morroccan friend, Arese, mine is currently in Africa and to say d Nav Screen has been useless is to say the least.

United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Ipanema Sand

I've just ordered the cable from NavVideo in the US and the rest of the necessary hardware (camera and GVIF) from hids4u.co.uk based on the information here.

Watch this space.

Going to be a fun day running cables, as I've also got an radio to install and an inverter, plus some additional power runs for additional radio hardware.

Any tips on running power through from the battery to under the LH seat?

I bought the same camera, at least it looks the same, as 4por4 installed, but I bought the wireless transmitter/interface. I'm hooking mine up to a Magellan 1700 GPS unit that I'm going to mount in the non-NAV cubby hole to fill up that empty space.
Does anyone have any info on panel removal at the back to route the power cable for the camera? I'm pretty sure I can remove the panel off the hatch and get the power cable up to the flex lines at the top of the hatch, I need to check out the high-mounted brake light, but how can I remove or route the cable around to the rear tail light assembly to steal power from the back-up light?
I haven't dug into it yet and it may be easier than I think... I may have to try to fish it through the those flex lines and just try to poke it under the trim around the opening.
If anyone has ideas I'd love to hear them...
Thanks

GVIF interface

I have been looking for a GVIF interface in the US and I came across this thread which suggested a website for NAVVIDEO but I think this site might be down or re-named perhaps.

Does anyone have an email address or phone number for this supplier (Tony)

Also would appreciate if someone can suggest an alternative supplier of a GVIF interface in the US.

Many thanks
Ed

Sir,
How do I know if my Freelander 2 (2007) has the required video interface to install one of these reversing cameras?
Phil
