Noise after stopping engine?

I have had my SD4 about a week now and I notice that when I switch off the engine there is a pump or something that continues to run for about 20-30 seconds afterwards. It is quite a high pitch and quite loud but only noticeable after the engine has stopped.

Any ideas what it is? Question

My 2010 TD4e does the same. I think it's something to do with the electronics and no doubt someone will be along soon to tell you exactly what! Smile

Cooling fan? Or maybe its an oil pump feeding oil to the turbo as it spools down as some cars do now. Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Certainly no offence taken, but I did more than a quick search on several search keywords and found nothing that helped hence the post. May be I searched for the wrong words...

I always do search to see if I can find the answer before asking anything. Honest! Thumbs Up

Thanks anyway.

I said I didn't find anything. I didn't say you couldn't find anything.

It depends on what you search for.

Thanks for the links anyway.
