Happy New Year to you too!
The info about fuel level, for both gauge and range is computed inside CJB. This is why I am thinking it was a software glitch inside CJB. The engine was directly in shutdown mode, way beyond limp mode. Read below. Here's what manual said: ......... The two fuel sender units are located on either side of the saddle shaped tank and connect to the internal electrical connections on the fuel delivery module flange. Each sensor provides an electrical signal to the CJB that is proportionate to the fuel level in each side of the tank. The actual fuel level in the tank is calculated by the CJB and transmitted via the medium speed can-bus to the instrument cluster. .......... If the instrument cluster fails to receive the fuel level signals from CJB, the fuel level gauge will move to the empty position and the low fuel level indicator will be illuminated. .......... Also the fuel level information from CJB is used by the engine ECM to apply the Run Out Of Fuel (ROOF) strategy Stage 1 > Indicated Tank Vol = 4.5l - Engine Torque Limitation, Cruise Control cancel/inhibit, No DTC, driver may not notice Torque Limit unless requesting high Torque Stage 2 > Indicated Tank Vol = 3.5l - As Stage 1 + Misfire, No DTC Stage 3 > Indicated Tank Vol = 3.0l - As Stage 1 + 2 + Shutdown, DTC P115B68 "Low Fuel Level Forced Engine Shutdown" Maybe it has the stage 3 error stored, you may check it out. Therefore the non start... |

A couple of years ago I had a restarting issue occasionally. If I stopped the engine without removing the fob (say, in a traffic jam), it would sometimes not crank when pressing the start button again. I would have to remove and reinsert the keyfob and that would usually solve it. I've had more than one firmware update since and it hasn't been an issue for some time.

Today i hit the stop/start button while driving(very slowly) and the fob wouldn't release. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

I would hope not. If you'd have got the fob out the steering lock solenoid would have kicked in.

Nope, i was stationary at the time. Took several attemps to get the fob out. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

I see. I read it as though you were still moving.
