Eco Stop Start??

Wonder if anyone else has encountered this or maybe its a fault thats just happened with my FL2

Just lately since we've been having the cold weather I notice that the eco stop start on my 2010 manual freelander dosent appear to be working..!

Now I do understand that the engine needs to be up to normal running temperture and the eco stop start won't always cut in if the air con is on or maybe the heater blower is running etc. But when its warmed up and no heater blowing or air con is switched on its not working just lately.

Maybe its because the outside temp is too low? Maybe its because the outside temp is low and there is the snowflake sign next to the temp reading which is around 1 to minus 4 just lately?

Any clues? or is anyone else finding this with theirs at the moment? telfire

I think you will find it doesn't operate below 4 degrees (maybe a bit out on this number). Not a fault anyway, mine hasn't cut out recently. Think the MY11 stop / start works down to 0 degrees.

It is an excellent feature, simple to understand and functions perfectly reducing overall fuel consumption.

A good tip is to read in the Owner's Manual re how the Stop-Start facility functions as there are many circumstances in which it is programmed not to operate, as well as naturally when it does automatically engage. Being aware of these features will reduce your concerns about your FL2 not operating as it should.
