United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 GS Auto Aintree Green

A slightly bigger boot (lengthwise)- no air suspension thank you
Tomtom sat nav in built (like Nissan) - no other sat nav gets close - so if you put a different one on i'll use my own
UV reflective glass - that would be a real bonus to us - old Freelander used to have it
Lower CO2 more mpg (so I can get one as a lease car through work)
More cubby holes for coins etc
A cover over the cubby holes near the hand brake
A twin deck boot like the CRV
A reduction in washer fluid use
Fog light switches more accessible so you don't have to look under the steering wheel and work out which one is front and which one rear
High level speed display like Honda Civic

The inability to drive only on sidelights (safety feature)
No electronic handbrake

From the reports on here front parking sensors that work (I haven't got them)

Generally it is a jolly nice car as it is!

Don't spoil the car with 'fairy light' sidelights

Owning a HSE, there's not much more I can think of, maybe:

- a choice of engine size
- automatic boot closing
- multifunctional use for the OEM satnav screen
- that iPhone bluetooth function that lets the car audio system play music via bluetooth
- a move away from the green led displays, I prefer the crisp white I had in the Lexus

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver

Japanese reliability... personally not too bothered about all the gizmos (TR aside) as I barely do any offroad, but getting the basics right first counts. The FL2 looks to be a step forward from the FL1, but hopefully the next step will be bigger in reliability terms!?! Rolling Eyes

List not in any priority order:

1: Minimum 5yr Warranty
2: Silky smooth manual gear box
3: Heating that pumps out heat within 60 seconds of ignition
4: Lighting in the load space area that reaches all four corners
5: Lower rear sill without compromising off road ability
6: Split tail gate
7: Rear seat width increased so that 3 adults can sit in comfort
8:Illuminated rear audio controls
9:Illuminated air vent dials
10:Increased leg room in the rear
11:Rear doors that open to a full 90°

That's the teasers, there are many more - but - as a consultant I'd need a fee - but - willing to attend any briefing at Gaydon.

Have fun -. but get it right first time so that you don't repeat the FL1 fiasco that did so much to damage the perception of the FL2.

I'm surprised, a few members have asked for an increase in boot size (length), what the hell do you put in yours? When I first saw the FL2 in a showroom, I was very surprised by the how deceptively big the boot is.....

An increase in boot size + an increase in rear legroom/width = RR..........................

Front seat arm rest as standard, split tailgate, no air suspension(over rated), no price rise.

A free one on my drive for a 3 year test drive. Thumbs Up

Specification Upgrades - Like,

Xenon lights as standard on the HSE as it should be now!! My biggest gripe. Mad

Far better use of the sat-nav screen like incorporate a more detailed trip computer system as on other cars of the same or lesser price.

Lose the green instrument display to orange/amber.

Supply an auxillery fuel burning heater with remote control - as on the Freelander 1 but for some reason omitted from the FL2 unless you are Russian = Rolling with laughter

Fit a proper centre console with cubby storage again as on the Freelander 1 & give the whole console area a more expensive appearance.

Give more interior trim choices & some bespoke options like allowing cream seats with black trim (what I wanted).

From an off road point of view I think it is fine (after doing the Experience yesterday) & there needs to be some difference between the Freelander & the Discovery otherwise one model will suffer in sales.

A bigger engine option that has a roar (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Headlamp wash button to save on washerfluid on all LR vehicles
A slightly bigger boot
Tomtom option on lower spec cars (I would not get it I love factory)
Heated steering wheel
Optional parking heater with remote
More "premuim" trim options ie real wood, special leather etc
More LED lighting but No fecking fairy lights
TDV6 diesel engine option would be most welcome
Solid blinds on sunroof

Some kind of "pro off-road pack"
Fulltime 4x4 not part time and NO HALDEX
Optional air suspension
Optional rear diff lock
Extra underbody protection

Having said all that we love our FL2 to bits - just personal taste

My wish list - similar to others posted

A slightly bigger boot (lengthwise) - possible extra seats?
I'd like air suspension if only for the increased ground clearance off road - if they can improve on current clearance that would be great
More cubby holes for coins etc
A twin deck boot like the CRV / X-Trail
Power point in boot
Make the car a little narrower overall - too wide for greenlanes, car park spaces and my garage!
Improve the fuel consumption

Fog light switches more accessible so you don't have to look under the steering wheel and work out which one is front and which one rear - agree

How about a drop down window in the rear hatch?

Oh - did I mention the price? Please don't push this too high like they did moving from FL1 to 2.
5 yr warranty?

Things I wouldn't want to change:
The driving position - its great!!!

Can you get me on the project ????? There's always a way forward!

2011 Freelander Td4 GS 150 - Rimini Red - in its place - Better x far x 4!!

As stated above - no price increase, allready dear enough but don't be so tight on the options.

Be the first manufacturer to sell accessories at a sensible price & you may actually sell them rather than selling them to the dealers on a disposal list 2 years after realising they are not just overpriced but insanely overpriced like the headrest monitor kits. If that kit had a DVD player with it & was priced at £999 I would guess that most of them would have flown out of the factory with new car orders.

Luxembourg 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Izmir Blue

I do own a Fl2 SE, I'm ver satisfied with the car, but for FL3 I want (NO specific order):

* larger boot
* front and rear fog lamp buttons on the wheel like Peugeot does (I never find them)
* brighter LED lights in the car.
* hybrid engine
* removable seats or stow away seats (like Renault Scénic)
* 7 seater
* I like the design, don't change the body, I like the actual form don't make the FL3 too rounded like the other SUVs.
* Xenon lights
* iPhone/iPod integration
* more hidden places in the floor (Renault Scénic) (I have 3 kids with lot of toys) Smile
* split tailgate
* no price increase Freelander 2 SE 4Td Izmir Blue, Dog cage for Alaskan Malamute, iphone Navigon Navigator

Seems from the posts that a few of the Freelander 1 features are missed,I can only guess this was down to Ford! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.
