Definitely not buried, but there's always reports of it happening (at least for the last few years).

Thing is, it's on motorways, and the TV film crews can always get near, yet the police/highways agency etc. can't get everyone out, and somewhere sensible. Always baffles me.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Sumatra Black

We have a problem in England where many people aren't fit to drive in summer, so as soon as a snow flake hits the ground there's widespread panic and incompetence. In the north of England and Scotland we're more accustomed to trickier roads (rough/narrow/steep/unpaved) and worse weather (colder/wetter/more snow) so we just get on with it. That said, we still have terrible drivers here. I have driven past stranded 4WD vehicles (not usually LR) in a RWD 3 series BMW.
The mass abandonment of vehicles we seem to see every year down south is a bit of a national embarrassment.

On a slight tangent, yesterday we had heating oil delivered and the truck slipped and got wedged against the wall at the top of my track. At the same time a Defender was passing and stopped to help him. We hooked a strap on and the Defender helped pull out a large half loaded truck. What a machine! Made me wish FL2 had a low box.

Slightest incline in Cheadle today, and I had to get out ( felt compelled) to assist a bloke in his Golf. I had to tell him not to rev F*** out of the car and spin the wheels, as though this is going to dig through and find traction. He then got up the slope. It's not rocket science or brain surgery, out people in this country just don't know how to drive.
Anna then ascended without a problem.

There's plenty around us in those large yellow bins at the side of the road - thought that is what I pay towards in our £215 road tax and council tax..... not that I have ever dreamed of filling a bucket up and keeping it in my garage to keep my drive clear Whistle Whistle Whistle
