Retro fit xenons?

Hi all, has anyone here fitted OEM xenons to their none xenon car yet?

I had to do a simillar thing to get my OEM xenon's on my caddy van to work.

Yes, but I havent cut in to any wires in the car, all the modifications are inside the xenon units (that I bought from ebay, but my halegons are safe in the loft). Anytime I can put back the halegon units and I am back to OEM spec without any cuts to the wiring or modification. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

This is how mine looks like, 6000k D1S in the xenon unit and 'xenon white' LED bulb w5w (5 SMD type from HongKong for around £6) in the side light.
Got the 6000k D1S from here, http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/ for £55 for both, lot cheaper then Philips which selles for £90 each, so far seems to be ok. Smile Original Philips D1S acting as the spare bulb kit.

Have soldering iron - I'll make 'em work - I did a similar thing in my Caddy - OEM xenon’s with anti OBC error bits glued inside - BLISS

You have bought the xenons from the same sellar that I got mine, you might not need the second item, On FL2 there's no monitoring for the bulb failure except for signal lights so no OBC errors to worry about (multiple shortcircuits willl generate OBC errors). Only issue is that xenons flickers when engine is running so I used the workaround of feeding power from battery to the xenons via a relay powered by low beam circuit.
Anyway as you have got then fix them and see if they can stop the flickering first. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

How'd you stop the LED sidelights pulsing?...

I've tried numerous times (Ballast resisitors etc) on my 57-plate to but have now given up '57 FL2 GS
Sumatra Blk, Tints, Winterpack, Dodgylooking TowBar, roof rails, Front & Rear LED Indicators, Clear Side repeaters(Led), LED Rear Position/Brake lights, Additional Power-point in the boot & Brighter luggage Illumination fitted

For me 220ohm resistor is all that's need to stop the pulsing. If you have tried resistors try this, connect the LED w5w to the side light holder and then attach a normal w5w in paralell (between positive and negative wires)just like you have attached the resistor. If this works you just need to figure out a way to keep the extra bulb inside the headling unit without touching any wires. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto

Got the car, plugged 'em in and they work fine.

Didn't need too much adjustment either Thumbs Up
