I recently bought an i6 from the far east (my 2nd one from that region) it is 2011 MY HSE 35k miles, one of the features not selected at new was the heated windscreen, so I have had a new heated screen fitted today. the new screen went in with no problems and the 2 female connectors from the main harness were present to have the ends from the new screen plugged in.

when we tried to plug the screen connectors into the female plugs they only went in part way and it was as though there was an obstruction preventing the connectors "click" to indicate the connectors are locked.

Does anyone know if the female connectors (main harness) or male connectors (screen) were ever subject to a design change? really don't want to force the connectors or make up a small lead between the connectors.

Are there any blanks in the plug? Normally blanks are fitted in spare plugs to prevent water causing corrosion.
The plugs will be tight, as they're taking a lot of current.

the harness plugs did have blanks in them and the male plugs on the new screen slide part way in but then stop and I suspect the the 2 flat pins are too wide, so I have found someone breaking a F2 with heated front screen and bought the harness and windscreen plugs to see if the new windscreen plugs are the issue.
