Suggest you make sure it is the one with the integrated air temperature sensor

Thank you.

So I’m pretty puzzled. 95% of maf that I look at are without temperature sensor or don’t state any information regarding it. A couple say with temperature sensor.

The thing is, all of them state they are compatible with the 2013 sd4 auto.

I would have thought that there are plenty of sd4’s out there so I’m puzzled there’s not anything mentioned about this.

Most people would just by a maf from one of the part suppliers and fit it, so I’m
presuming this temperature sensor thing must be a red herring. Either way, I can’t find any listed in the uk which specifically mention the temperature sensor, but I can on Autodoc (although Autodoc shows those with and without sensors as correct fitment).

I know it's confusing but I know which one I would pick, if there was no IAT on the TB especially in view of the early Evoque manual information

From what I read (Generically) the Mass Air Flow Sensor has already compensated for Intake Temperature
so a separate sensor is not needed, but in some cars it is included to check on the correct functioning of the MAF.

It looks like a separate Intake Temperature is not need with the updated electronics of the later FL2s.

PS Just read 'I like chips' note. - Its odd that there is apparently no difference mentioned between earlier and later FL2s? FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 76k+ miles) (MY2015)

Thank you so much everyone.

So is the part on the diagram 12a697

If so will it be located on the passenger side of a UK car?

Will I need to remove the bumper to access?

I really appreciate everyone’s help with this.

Thank you mark.

For added confirmation. The Combined MAF/IAT sensor next to the air filter has 4 wires.
My MAP sensor on the throttle body has just 3 wires so its not a combined sensor.

The later cars' grill is part of the bumper and so the whole lot has to be removed to get at stuff behind the grill. Jules

Well done that man Thumbs Up

Weird I've searched the same website (parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com) and couldnt find that going via the FL2 > engine > etc route. The pic Ive got only shows the early version intercooler with no sensor.

Out of interest, how did you arrive at it ?

Got -it . If you type in "air temp..." in the search it finds it - good to know Jules

So, despite my best efforts, I cannot see any sensor on the pipework - I’m not sure whether that’s because it does not exist or whether it’s just hidden?

Would anyone know whether the sensor would be on the drivers or passengers side and whether it should be visible without removing the bumper?

Also is access to that area possible from either underneath / or removing a wheel liner, or is it defeatedly a bumper off job?

Many thanks
Mark

So I have found a different diagram - this seems to show it on the drivers side.

I'm not sure anyone is still following this thread anymore (I can understand why!!).

Any ideas if this is the location (I certainly cant see anything on the passenger side) - if so is it accessible does any one know, whithout removing the bumper??

Thanks

If you are looking at the downloadable workshop manual it is a USA copy, so some maybe all stuff is opposite in relation to the UK or Russian Parts searches. Since the intercooler is to the front of the Coolant radiator and AC condenser I think is inaccessible from the engine side.

Jules

I mostly use a Russian at least I think its Russian website for my part searches, Also Google images is helpful if you know the part you are after. As you know once you have the LR code it's a piece of cake to find the bit needed

Adding I wonder if removing the fog light will show the location, maybe you can get your hand in as far as the Intercooler?

So finally located it today. It looks possibly to reach (maybe easier if headlight or foglight removed). Anyhow it’s on the drivers side of my uk car - if that may help someone else in the future. Weather dependent I may have a go tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

Good luck getting to it.
Normally replacing the boost hoses requires the front bumper be removed.
The sensor will be on the outlet side of the intercooler, which is always going to be on the RH side of the vehicle, regardless of the side the driver sits. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate on order.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.
