United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Orkney Grey
Oil Changes Auto 2014

Hi Guy/Gals.
I am after a little reassurance mainly, i have my second FL2 colour Orkney Grey, Auto 2.2 diesel SD4, as opposed to my 2.2 manual TD4.

Would you be happy using this engine oil below, i have not used it in the TD4 but is it ok for an Auto SD4 any & all replies appreciated.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254938667457

The same for this oil for the PTU & rear diff.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111661700665

This for the Haldex.
https://www.haldexrepairs.co.uk/shop/servi...rvice-kit/

The FL2 has been fully serviced by Harwoods, at ever service interval needed, but now it will be serviced by me.

Hi Rob.
Thank you for your interest & reply, yes it helps, i have used the Haldex oil before on my manual FL so there should be no difference using it on a gen 4 opposed to a gen 3 of cause the filter size will be different.

I have read that some owners have used 75w/90 for their diffs

Oil looks fine,if the ramps were pointing the same way wouldn’t the car be able to just drive off them when you’re done ?

You would indeed, but the way i have them there is no way the car can accidentally roll off the ramps.

I've used quality 75w90 in everything in the drive line, except the Haldex.
I don't believe the Gen3 Haldex fluid is compatible with the Gen4 Haldex, but a complete Gen4 kit is cheap enough. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate on order.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.

Hi John.
I thought i read it somewhere, the link above & this below are for the Gen 4
https://www.haldexrepairs.co.uk/shop/servi...rvice-kit/

I will go with that, the paperwork states all the services have been kept up to date, but i really like to start from my own point, so at the moment i am gathering all the parts around me, so far i have air, filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, oil, oil filter, still need the PTU oil & diff oil, i do have some from my last service on the TD4 but will need a little more, mud flaps to fit, side steps to fit, rear spoiler to fit in Orkney grey, already fitted rubber mats including the boot mat.

JLR manual says to use different oils for the PTU and rear diff.

I used Smith & Allan Geartech FS 75w-90 for the PTU and Smith & Allan Geartech EP 80w90 for the rear diff. Jules
