Turbo Downpipe - Intercooler hose pipe - Only last 6 months

Folks
Myself and a friend seem to go through the intercooler hose pipe very regulary.
I have had 2 go in the past 4 years, my friend has had around 4 go, the last one yesterday (last about 6 months)
We have both been using genuine land rover marked hoses and ones brought off ebay.
Is this normal? Do they only last 2 years max?

The spare I have in the boot is a silicone one - do these last any better?

Thanks

No personal experience but I would think the silicone one would be better.

Changed mine to silicone hoses around 9 years ago. Never had an issue. Thumbs Up Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.

I'm struggling to find silicon hoses for the turbo side of the intercooler, can get the inlet side ok. Any ideas? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I recently purchased the usual two silicone hoses from DPH Sport so hopefully they will last a bit longer than the year I got out of the Britpart one. Just haven't had the time to remove the front bumper to replace the lower one yet.
The latest Britpart hose was a bit shorter and blew off when I had the caravan on tow but thankfully had the silicone hose in the boot which are at least two inches longer.

Purchased mine from an eBay seller, can't remember the name though. Only issue I had was the throttle body hose, the existing one is two different sizes. The replacement hose the same at both ends.
Struggled for some time to get it on before I realised the problem. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

Dont LR provide 2 yr parts warranty?
At least they would replace if it did go early (might end up more cost effective).
