OK you have a driverless car, but with manual controls.
You can see that there is going to be an accident and grab the controls, not totally avoiding an accident but reducing it significantly. Goes to court and the manufacturer says that you are to blame as the car would have coped if you had let it - prove otherwise.
You can see that there is going to be an accident and don't grab the controls as you believe that the manufacturer would then blame you - someone gets killed and you could have prevented it - murder? by who?

My definition being, murder is the killing of another through deliberate action or inaction. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

But there have been many fatal “accidents” in the US already, primarily with Teslas, I don’t see the froth from the lawyers over there just yet, and it’s been a while.

TBH I don’t think our roads, even most Motorways lend themselves to “relaxed” autonomous driving anyway, to many variations in road type, edge/kerb/bushes etc etc. Regards

Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me......

Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again......

I should add that a well developed intelligent cruise control system works well on motorways in most circumstances, but in this country I wouldn’t feel happy relinquishing the wheel completely. Regards
