no way when we are still trying to impress the world by throwing £300 million to the Ukraine even though technically we are totally bankrupt ourselves with an overwhelming amount of debt.

Same in Canada, the carbon tax on fuel was raised 4 cents per litre as previously planned federally in January. I actually don't mind paying it if it was actually being used for carbon footprint reduction but heck no, it isn't, just future earmarks.

I'm just getting used to the new game where the winner is the first person to spot the £2 a litre Diesel sign.

Highest I've seen so far is 176.9 per Ltr.

PS Hope is at hand that it may never get to £2 (yet)
Just spotted this extra oil supply posting on BBC.

Seriously contemplating the motorbike, Car does 34mpg, bike does 74mpg. So it's £18.20 a day in the car on fuel or £8.30 a day on the bike, and the bike will shave 45 minutes each way off the travel time. Now if only it would stop raining / blowing a gale / snowing. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Asda petrol station near me put their diesel price over night from 154.7 p/l to 159.7 p/l and then later the same day put it up to 165.7 p/l

surely if they have bought the fuel at wholesale price A they should continue to charge the same retail price A until the tanks get refilled at the new wholesale price B and then up the prices ?

just reeks of corporate greed yet again to me

Just a guess, ASDA buy an awful lot of fuel and the price that they buy it at is changing rapidly. So if they buy a tanker load at £1.50 a gallon then they set the price for all their stations at £1.52. Next tanker an hour later they buy at £1.60 so they put ALL their stations up to £1.62 etc.

Smaller local franchises buy fuel every few days / weeks so they will only increase prices when they buy a new tanker load.

Funny how the bulk price of oil has just dropped but no-one has dropped the price at the pump. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

165.7 ppl Shocked I filled up at 161.7 on Sunday and thought that was steep, although it wasn’t a local forecourt. Wonder what prices are there today?

A regular BP on the A6 near to me is making all the local news and social media at the moment. Average price in the area is about £1.65 for diesel at the moment.

I have just received my household Gas and Electric quote for next 12 months (complete with new suggested monthly payments)

I am will take a little while to recover from the shock!

Electricity up over twice last years figure.
Gas up 3 Times last year!

I can see that between Diesel, Gas, and Electric, my outgoings will rise by at least a couple of thousand pounds a year. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

It was only 175.9 on the M5 on Monday evening near Gloucester, when some people on forums were posting much higher prices elsewhere.

Try living in the sticks where there's no gas....

Heating oil has gone from £0.40 to £1.50/litre in a year. Current driveway contents:

2009 FL2 dog bus and shooting wagon

On Order: 2023 Fisker Ocean Ultra - deposit paid.

Although we (FL2) worry about Diesel/Petrol costs, I have just realised that the cost of running an Electric (BEV/PHEV) car will also have doubled.

It may be a good time (for the Chancellor) to lock in the rises by changing to a tax per mile at this present high level of travel costs? FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
