I agree lets start with the HGVs - they travel more miles than normal motorists and are the most polluting.
Then clobber all the delivery drivers.

Wait a minute, we all then pay more as delivery costs go up.

Currently those of us with obviously deep pockets pay an extra £335 on top of the £150 that poorer drivers can afford. So being taxed per mile will obviously suit the expensive Chelsea tractors being used as school buses as they will pay less.

As a LR owner paying £485 a year tax it might seem that I support this idea, but I drive 25,000 miles a year at my cost (remember 50% of fuel price is tax) and feel that I pay enough, more than enough. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
