Cambelt - does online service history show its done?

Hi All

I am just about to buy a Freelander 2 2013 HSE eD4 69k Miles.

I have just been reading through the main dealer online service history for the vehicle and some of the supplied previous owner service documents.

No specific mention of cambelt change in advert so i am expecting to need to do this shortly (not quite 10yrs only 69K miles)

The last service document (144,000 miles / 108 Months service) states the ancillary drive belt was replaced and the owner has left a receipt for the works that show this.

Perhaps wishful thinking but I was hoping to confirm whether or not this ancillary drive belt was the cam belt or what would other wise be known as the fan belt? Part number LLR000996

Many Thanks in anticipation

A 2013 should have the timing belt changed at 7 year intervals if sticking to the LR replacement schedule.
Earlier Freelander 2s had 10 year or 150k belt replacement schedules.

If it's only ever been to LR for maintenance, then they should have it on the system, if its been done assuming the dealer can be bothered to check for you. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. My daily driver.

Just had a look at my printout of complete service history, that is provided by my dealer after each main service.

Noticed that they have got lazy on the last 2 services and recorded 'not applicable' in the parts used entry.
However, all parts are listed on the respective invoices, including 'Timing Belt Kit' last year. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 74k+ miles) (MY2015)

I use an independent guy who provides me with a receipt for all work so I have a nice folder with every service and repair listed for the next owner, I printed the online service record off and added that, so I go the old fashioned route no on line all on paper! Thats an old tried and tested method and it works! I had my cam belt changed due to age not mileage (18k) the old belt looks like new but at least its peace of mind. If you have any doubts get it changed and use a Gates belt kit with water pump. 2014 Freelander 2 XS TD4

Thanks all, i have emailed the dealer and asked them to review their records, will see if anything comes back.

Either way, looks like I will be looking at a cam belt change soon

Anyone able to recommend an independent in West Midlands/South Birmingham area?

Thanks

I used Prospect Garage in Solihull for routine service during the warranty period, was perfectly happy with their work.
They are situated behind all the bling dealerships on the main road and do a lot of work for the JLR, Merc dealerships.
People bring their lovely cars to the dealerships and they take them around the back for Prospect to do the work - inc MOTs Laughing
I simply cut out the middleman and went straight to Prospect.
Not used them for several years though as I do 95% of the work myself and the rest went to Bell (Haldex pump) or my local non-specialist garage in my village (wheel bearing).
