Noise at 50mph and over

Hi,

So, I've recently purchased a 2011 61 plate FL2 SD4 HSE.

It may be me being more sensitive to the car having come from a very well sound insulated car previously. But at 50mph and over, it seems a little noisy.

I'm not hearing any whuring or whining etc. Also there is no vibration. It just sounds like excessive road noise. The tone is constant and doesn't increase with speed to say 70mph on a motorway. I would also say it's not unbearable either, it's just louder than I expected.

I'm thinking it's the tyres fitted which are Nexen N'Fera RU1's but wanted to reach out to see if anyone had any thoughts?

I've read threads on diffs etc and done quite a bit of searching, but I don't believe it's emitting the noises of a failed diff (I could be wrong on this one of course).

Thanks Wonderlust.

It may just be me being more sensitive to noises in comparison to my previous vehicle.

Nexen N'Fera RU1's.

From some auto reviews, they have high rolling resistance, ok performance and relatively noisy. Which I think is what's creating my problem.

The older the tyres the more noise.
