Similar but it takes so long and the amount of products needed finally persuaded me to get the cars done… Chap comes to the house and does both the Freelander and the little I10 inside and out for £50 the pair. He provides his own electricity, water & cleaning /polishing products etc and makes a first class job of them. He does two or three cars regularly in our little close which was recommendation enough for us.

Apart from perhaps a quick pressure washer job, I doubt I'll do my own valeting again.

How often are you having them done?
I wash my car weekly, sometimes more often if I get a chance. That would cost me £200+ every month, you can buy a hell of a lot of car care products for £50, never mind £200. Apart from that I really enjoy cleaning cars, it's 'me time' and very therapeutic. 😁 Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Pretty much when I think they need doing. Certainly not weekly.

That said, whilst £50 might buy a lot of chemicals and cloths etc, I really don't enjoy cleaning cars and my time is worth far more to me than the cost of getting the cars done. It takes me a considerably longer time to achieve the overall standard that the man in the van with an eye to repeat business and word of mouth recommendations achieves in three hours.

I am ashamed to say this morning we were out to the Doc’s early and on the way we decided pop into the local Polish polish place…….for a tenner the car looks like a shiney thing again, so that’s it until the next time I forget the colour of it.

Oddly they seem to have branched out into a niche business, they will also pluck and polish your cat or dog apparently Rolling with laughter

I once asked them where you could get those special chammy leathers that they use , you know , the ones that can be dragged under the wheel arch then across the bonnet and windscreen without leaving a scratch.. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I did wonder why there was just the one bloke there today doing the washing as it’s usually bustling with three of four of them, three of them were Ukrainian and guess where they had gone?

They certainly should get some kind of award Whistle Regards
