Thanks for all the replies and links, I have read them all and it seems the only way in is to break a window. I can’t move it, I can’t get to tow electrics, applying power to the battery via the starter motor or alternator does not wake up the car. You have to put the fob into the dock to wake it up. Although I will try and apply power to the battery but I only have a jump starter pack as garage is a 10 min walk from house and hope it is just a near flat battery.

Next question, which window is easier to replace front or rear door.

The most important part is don't give up.

There is no way my LR2 would last 28 days without completely draining the battery, if yours will go that long that's impressive.

I did look at the post history from Freel2SD4Dynamic

10 June 2019 --> posted about working on a clip that hold the window glass

7 August 2019 --> posted that he couldn't get in

That's more than 28 days

He did apply a battery charger to the starter or alternator and he did get in using the key fob.

My LR2 doesn't have the single lock / double lock that your Freel2 has but Freel2SD4Dynamic doesn't have a LR2 like me

One last thought I wouldn't assume that the electronics will remain in sleep mode even if you apply 14 Volts from a charger.

Does anyone have any objective evidence that they tried to wake up the Freel2 using a battery charger and it didn't work?

I only have the one data point, which I will agree is not statically significant, but it did work.

It would be very usefully to know if the battery charger works for you as well

Good luck

Paul

I was thinking that a trolley jack under the protective plate to edge the car away from the wall,
Breaking the window is a bad idea, I think, two heads better than one
I’m working at Hoylake coast guard station tomorrow and can assist you.

I wrote a reply last night and it did not go up, so I'll write it again. My plan for how is put a charge to the battery via the starter or alternator which ever is easier to get to. Call the AA see if they can do anything, probably not. But try and get my money worth out of them. Failing that wheel follies as mentioned on here. I thing there is enough room to swing it round. Garage floor is not so smooth a tamp finish so maybe some ply on the floor. And then hope if door opens squeeze in the misses. If that fails then its hammer time🔨🔨 GS Sd4 2012

Hi, nope won’t be around at 5pm, but keep me posted
I think if you can jack it up at the front Cross member as indicated you should be able to move it over?
But let me know, I’m willing to assist if required

Hi,
hope you get it sorted soon Thumbs Up

still think if it is a battery flat issue it would be easier to get to the tow socket Question
even if you have backed up to touching the garage wall, go under the car you only have to get a plug in the socket to be able to charge.
Make up your own to suit your charger, although Martin does sell them in the "Shop"
something like these

Thumbs Up

my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

From my experience it wont be a flat battery because when i finely got mine open the car did start on the second try.
Using something under the tyres to slide on or getting someone to tow it out would be better and cheaper than breaking a window. Common sense isn't very common.

I agree with Axle - the FL2 is programmed to go to sleep well before it has used all the battery power. (that is unless you already had experienced that your battery was very, very, dodgy)

Your original post said "I am thinking flat battery but the red light on the dash is flashing so maybe not flat ".

Hopefully the your Breakdown Service will have access to 'wheel dollies' that will enable to car to be jacked up onto them and moved.
