Also consider replacing the front crankshaft and camshaft seals at the same time. It only takes a few minutes and they are reasonably cheap.

Are you doing it yourself?

Thanks for that, I'll add it to the list.
My son-in-law runs, Southwold Town Garage, so Chris will do the job and MOT.

Buy a complete Gates kit off ebay - get your favourite garage to change it all for you.

I only buy direct from Land Rover as i'm in the, "sold at cost scheme", so every part on my car has a bill to prove only Land Rover parts fitted.
That may cost me a little more but if I come to sell in the future, I hope to recover that cost and hopefully will make it more saleable.

Update...Got a bit of a shock when ordering the, Cam belt kit, from Hunters Land Rover, even with my discount it came in at just under £200 The VAT crippled the cost.
Gates it is then shade under £100 by the time you add postage.
Thanks for the head up on eBay.

Agree , there is nothing special or unique about many LandRover service parts except the percentage overhead applied to arrive at the selling price . Ford are masters at value engineering and purchasing , and the Ford /PSA Diesel unit has seen service in zillions of vehicles . It doesn’t take a lot of googling to find out which companies make original equipment for the big automotive outfits . Something like a Pierburg brand throttle body will be £60 to £80 cheaper from Euro Car Parts than it will be in a LR box . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . Best Car I ever owned !

2023 Toyota Hilux invincible X 2.8 Auto .

The same can be said about oils. Land Rover don’t make any oil but the oil for the Haldex from Land Rover is way more expensive than the Volvo branded version.
