United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Orkney Grey

Somewhere on the forum is a picture of a knackered bearing - it is inscribed "made in India" and therein lies many of the problems, inferior steel used in order to save a few pennies or perhaps a form of nepotism employed by a senior TATA manager. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I fear my FL2 is coming close to biting the bullet on the diff too.. Very noisy after a round trip from Dorset to the lake District.. bracing for the cost!

As an update on mine... The noise and vibration at 55mph was unbearable so I booked it in at the local LR specialist. They looked at the rear diff and said that although it was showing wear, it wasn't the cause of the loud(er) noice. Cue a rebuilt transfer unit instead. Vibration gone, but now I can hear the diff more! I am slightly losing patience with it!
