There pricing does seem a bit random, was quoted the fixed £395 price for the belt but as I said not sure if that includes the water pump

Our SD4 is going in tomorrow for the 7 year service plus cam belt & water pump. Prices quoted, in writing, are £275 for the service, £395 for the cambelt & £107.61 for the water pump - all up the price quoted including VAT is £777.61 - £395 for cam belt on its own, £670 is the price for the service & cambelt only.

Will check before they start the work that it includes the tensioner & idler too.

Gates is the largest supplier to most manufacturers as they do not make water pumps/Idler pulleys or cam belts, so most of the time kits are re-boxed by manufactures like sparks plugs and filters. Yes mine included the water pump and has a 100000 mile guarantee. Lots on E-bay

Can confirm that the £395 fitted is with LR Genuine parts kit LR032527 which includes the tenioner and idler as this was what was fitted to our Sd4 on Monday this week at Harwoods.

LR genuine parts water pumps have PSA and FoMoCo branding in the casting Whistle

Do it yourself.

Gates kit less than £90, locking kit approximately £27.
No other special tools required other than a good socket set and some spanners.
Also required plenty of tea or coffee of your choice.

Did mine last summer. No big deal, just requires patience. Thumbs Up Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.

The Land Rover Fixed Price Servicing guide is belt only. Not pulleys, pre-tensioner rollers or water pump (which are far more likely to give up before the actual belt)
