Freelander 2 maintenance records

Hi, please forgive me if posted in an incorrect section, whilst a lifelong discovery /Range Rover Sport owner this is my first visit to the Freelander forum.

My wife is very interested in a 2013 Freelander 2 with 120000 miles on the clock. Concerned about the lack of service details, the dealer (Landrover main) claims that although the vehicle has been fully maintained by various Landrover dealerships since new but this is information is not recorded in the Landrover central record due to the vehicles age?

As a say new to Freelanders but I'm a little confused, on my current 2012 RRS I know that all the service details etc are available in the system including work carried out by independent Landrover specialists.

The lack of documented evidence within the Landrover system has me somewhat concerned hence my question does the same system not apply to the Freelander 2?

Hi and welcome,

our 2013 GS came with a fully stamped up service book, receipts for work completed and after a phone call to the main dealer that supplied and serviced the car, they not only confirmed all dates and mileages of the services they had completed but also told me what other work they had done as well
but
dont think anything is On-Line it is what is on their (landrover) system that they should also be able to tell you

Thumbs Up

ps. if not much is available I would consider walking away as there are a few FL2's out there to choice from Whistle .
my first ever FL2 and I did keep it longer than most other cars!
But its now gone way up Norf

Online Service History did not apply to the Freelander until February 2013.

13MY manufactured October 2012 to start February 2013 came with a Service Book in the Document Pack. Some were also added to the OSH system simultaneously, but not all.

As an example, my 13MY came with both, manufactured October 2012.

Any work carried out by a genuine Land Rover dealership will have its work recorded centrally, as has been pointed out....don't let some smarmy salesman tell you otherwise. Demand to see everything carried out, warranty work or otherwise, based against the VIN. If they can't (or won't) oblige, then they are hiding something, and I would walk away.

I agreed with Sperly above , except I would say 'registered' not manufactured. As the vehicle's service record starts from the date of registration not date of manufacture.
