United Kingdom 2015 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Orkney Grey

As said above sound quality was crap and in all honesty neither I nor my wife got involved in the story so neutral to the programme. Marmite comes to mind. Shocked MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

We enjoyed it,
A very alternative story with some great effects, Thumbs Up

Tenet,
I have the same problem with hearing dialogue especially with background chatter/music
I've brought and tried a quality sound bar .............and didn't it make much
difference, so I've now resorted to using subtitles. Sad

I know I have dodgy hearing but the soundtrack, like so many tv dramas, is very poor. A consequence of flat screen tv's I'm afraid. I guess a sound bar is the answer.
Conversely I came out of our local Vue cinema with my ears bleeding the soundtrack was sòooo loud. Smile

I'm sure this is a symptom of everything being recorded in super duper 5.1 surround sound (how many actually have this) and as you say, leaves those of us with simple stereo flat screen TVs struggling. Andy

When I hear (excuse the pun) of bad audio on a TV drama (like Jamaica Inn) , I binge watch it on the 'on-demand' ....... but wear my headphone to compensate.

Not sure that sound bars help.
We have a less than 12 months old Panasonic TV, Sonos sound bar and twin Sonos one speakers.
Set the sound on the TV to enhance voice and it still sounds as if the actors are mumbling.

next door but one can probably hear the TV in an attempt to hear the actors, OK I have worked in engineering for all me working life and am probably starting to get a little hard of hearing, but the wife can hear me opening the biscuit tin in the next room, and she still struggles to hear what is being said.
Strangely you can hear every syllable when the adverts are on, even though you have to turn the sound down as they come on.

As an aside, avoid the Sonos system if you want it for anything more than watching the TV.
The constant software updates mean that the phone, PC, controller are always out of sync, and now they no longer support iPhones, so my not insubstantial paid for music library on my phone is no longer able to play through the speakers - which was a major part of the reason why we bought the system, the other was the ability to connect to my LP player.
And before you ask I cannot install iTunes on the laptop as it interferes with the software already installed - did it once, lost three days rebuilding the machine to recover. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I agree with the above sound bars are good for certain things but speech is usually a problem,as said weird how you struggle with a program and then the adverts are crystal clear. I tried the Christmas Carol program didn’t like it so turned off but agree the dialogue was muffled, the Worzel Gummige thing was clear no problem at all.

I will see if I can rig the TV to my HiFi system. Back in the day I used to be a bit of a buff and have solid silver (well 99.5%) cables together with a power amp and pre amp from Sumo, which used to be used to demo ATC speakers - probably the best speakers money can buy. Will report back in due course. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.
