Hi,
Battery flat an 2012 FL2 Dynamic so cant get in. Manual key on passenger door just turns all way round to no effect. Cant open bonnet to get at battery. Removed undertray and can get arm up inside and can pull on a cable which frees bonnet towards drivers side but passenger side stays put. Looks like a steel loop on both sides but passenger side doesn’t free. Can’t see how they are connected.Have removed catch in middle but doesn’t help. Any ideas?

The vehicle is in the air with the belly pan removed?

If yes then

Assuming that you have a battery charger.

Just connect the positive clip to the large nut on the starter motor and the negative clip to the engine block.

This should be enough to unlock the doors.

If you don’t know what to connect to the post a picture of the starter and I’ll point out the correct connection

The connection point is on the other side the battery cable connects there not on the side shown in your advert, see piccy 1 https://www.ebay.co.uk/c/11015401332?iid=273001714028

I don't have the same starter on mine so I can comment on the ease of access.

Note: on the 3.2 I think there is a plastic cap covering the connection.

The next place to try is the alternator.

It also has a large B+ wire. (it is the large wire on the back of the alternator)

If that is more accessible then just use that for the Red lead of the charger.

Not easy as connector was on topt/blind side but managed to get charger on it and hey presto, doors unlocked. Brilliant thanks.
Still can’t get bonnet open. Don’t know why passenger side loop stays locked down. Left battery charger on starter in hope it will charge battery to at least start engine.
Any ideas how to get bonnet up, tried pressing down whilst pulling lever etc. If no ideas I may have to take a saw to the loop.

I’m confused with the bonnet. There are two catches, one either side. The release cable feels (I can’t see) like it goes to the drivers side catch and it does release but I can’t work out how it gets to the passenger side catch which is locked down. I am reaching up from below and the cable goes out of reach.
Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for the pic. Looks like the single cable passes through both latches. I assumed it went to driver side first but not so sure now. I’ll have to search for a cable route.

The cable comes through the bulkhead on the passengers side and runs along the inner wing to the N/S catch then across the landing panel to the O/S catch. There is not really any access to the cable before the N/S catch. Having someone pull the release handle whilst you pull/push down/thump the bonnet in the area of the catch can sometimes release a sticky lock if it has stuck through lack of use. Good luck!

Hi Guys,
Left the charger connected to the starter last night. Got home from work today, tried it and she started right up.
Considered all the info about the bonnet. No easy way to near side latch. Wedged up bonnet on drivers side and could get to bolts fixing headlight. Removed them and forced the headlight out from rear plastic fixing. Didn’t damage it.
There’s a channel through to the other side. Could see latch with a geed torch. I got a long steel rod with a small 90 degree bend on the end. Got the 90 degree send twisted up far side of latch, wiggled it too and fro and hey presto-it popped free. Hallelujah. Once bonnet was up I could see that the cable had dropped out of clip. Re-inserted it and works perfect.

Next job is to fix the manual lock on the passenger door!
