Got some nice mileage going from Lincoln to Manchester yesterday. The pic isn't that great, but that's 596 miles left on the range with 60 miles on the trip. Thats 656 miles total range!! (and yes I do reset it every fill! Cool )

I did have 600 miles showing on the range at one stage but I hit a hill. Sad Then I hit loads of accidents and stuff so it went a bit Pete Tong after that. Even with those figures on the range I was only getting about 40-42mpg on the meter. Still to try and beat my record of 44.5!

Differennt topic, related to your picture.
Do you also have a significant dimming down of the dash board illumination, when switching on the lights (Bi-Xenon in my case) Question

Watch out Frobius, I posted a photo like yours showing 48 odd mpg at 50mph after 150 miles and the forum police hit their keyboard so fast it was scary, questioning the morals of taking a picture whilst driving Rolling Eyes

The forum police can eat my balls. Again no offence mods, I love you guys in here but I know what you mean Doug, some mods on some forums think that their position on the internet makes them the salvation of society. Particularly geek forums I have noticed!

As for Dave.. you can eat my balls too!! Laughing Laughing I do notice the temperature and the fact your car aint going anywhere. just filled up? meh, cheat! I'm going up to Scotland in April and will do the mpg challenege properly then, including a tank fill at the end to see what I can get the range up to.

[serious]

Freegreen, not sure what you mean. In fact given that I have had a couple of bottles of vintage Bollinger tonight (women!) I might be confusing myself. I seem to think that when the lights come on, the display either lights up or dims... hmm.. there if definitely some sort of effect on the dash though. Grr.. bolly! I'll check tomorrow and discuss.

Hi Guys,

Just picking up on this thread. MPG is on mine is worse in the cold weather (noticed same on other fuel injection cars too) and it also dropped a little when they updated the software on the ECU to cure the (occasional) fail to start fault. Driving cruise control around 70 it's high 30's (low 40's in summer). Around town/ general driving it's low - mid 30s Banging Head

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Sumatra Black

When I bought my TD4 SE Auto in April last year, my first trip was from the dealers (London) back home to Blackpool. At a general 70-75mph I averaged 38.4 I think it was, which seemed very reasonable. In December we took it to Torver for its 12 month first service (less than 9,000mls) and it had the PTC thing done too. Went down to Northampton at Xmas and got 32.7mpg. I've been up to the Lakes in Jan with a very light foot and got the same. Ironically, I'm getting 29mpg round town.

I've just e-mailed Torver for their comments because like you, I don't know whether it is this recall job or just the cold weather.

I've still got my free-with-Freelander 'permagrin' though!! Thumbs Up
