Bohemian Rhapsody

Just been to the cinema to see this. Really enjoyed it and great acting by Malek. They certainly made some epic and iconic songs Cool LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

We went to see it a couple of weeks ago - cinema only 1/3rd full on a Saturday evening, a shame because it was good.

It is worth going to uTube to see the original Live Aid performance.

Saw it a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say it was excellent. One of the very few films that I would go to the cinema to see again. I’ve downloaded the sound track (being a bit nerdy but there you go).

I was introduced to the band back in 1982 when they played at Elland Road football stadium, and still remember how shy Freddie Mercury was compared to the others. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

I saw queen headlining knebworth about 100yrs ago , one of the worst gigs for several reasons have seen. Being chased through the crowed by hells angels after witnessing one of their guy assault an older couple who ran a baked potato stand. He hit the guy with a wooden mallet on the head and knocked him out then the HA poured an industrial run full of boiling water over the woman, you could see the skin fall off of her .
The hells angels took over the sound tower and fannied around with everything on the mixing desk. The best bit of the gig was the guy that climbed up onto the gantry that held all he stage lights and did the Chuck Berry duck walk.
A long drive there and back from Glasgow fr a crap weekend sleeping in the car. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Best film I’d seen for ages. When I got home I looked it up on YT to see if he really did blow a kiss for his mum. He did! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Sorry to be the fly in the ointment.
As someone who was totally obsessed with Queen through my teenage years I found the film to be aimed more at those who , although aware of the music were not actually fans or the "Greatest Hits" crowd , the bandwagoners who became fans AFTER Freddie's death. ( I was at the FM Tribute Concert and around 70% didn't have a clue what Queen song was being sung unless it was off of the GH albums.)
From a disjointed and distracting acting performance from Malek , to stupid made up characters referencing their own films - a la Mike Myers.
Malek reminded me of the lad in Queen's The Miracle video when he was doing the live performances. A boy portraying a man.
Timelines all over the place - We Will Rock you in the early 1980's !! Fat Bottomed Girls in the early 70's.
Love of My Life on tv in the late 1970's but somehow it's a recording from Rock in Rio from 1985.
The band not speaking to Freddie for a few years before 1985 but somehow in reality making The Works album which was in 1984.
I could go on - but I won't.
Would really have liked to have seen this with SBC instead as I believe he would have been far far more believable as the great man.
Gwylim Lee and Joseph Mazerllo were ,however outstanding and believable as both Brian May and John Deacon. Ben Hardy's portrayal of Roger Taylor just reminded me of Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films - I half expected him to keep saying "Bloody hell", all the time.
Oh, and that annoying bitch behind us in the cinema singing along to every bloody song (again, apart from the ones NOT on the GH albums, funny that).
Above is just my opinion and opinions are like arseholes - everybody has one.
Not to be taken too seriously.
Thumbs Up

That's my point. The film is aimed at people like yourself who will be watching Queen for the first time. Glad you liked the film, and that you've now watched what is considered by many to be the greatest 20 minutes in rock music history .

RealeBeale, a guy at work who is in his own amateur rock band is a huge fan of Queen from way back when and he absolutely loved the movie.

It's a bit like the critics of Dunkirk. Labelled a crap film by some because the movie did not portray anywhere near enough people on the beach and spitfires could not land on the beach as shown.

The problem with these films is that for some people, if it is not word for word and timeline perfect, it is a crap film. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I'm entitled to my opinion. I gave it as I saw it . That's the end of it. It may not be the same as everyone else but I'm entitled to it just the same. I'm not expecting or forcing anyone else to accept it. There is no right or wrong when it comes to our own personal opinion . What we may think of others opinions may be different to our own, but that does not mean that an opinion is wrong - just different.

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Zermatt Silver

as a band, I thought they got obsessed with that operatic sound, I can remember them supporting Mott the Hoople many years back at Newcastle Mayfair (maybe 1973) , I can remember really enjoying their first album all the way through in a record shop booth (remember them? at Windows in Newcastle) liked that album and their first single (keep yourself alive)and thought they went a bit naff afterwards, I would class them as the George Formby of music . . . fat arse girls and bicycle bicycle etc etc comic stuff . . . . never seen the film, maybe watch it when its on TV next year. . Thumbs Up 2017 SEAT Ateca 4drive 2.0 xcellence (May 2022 -

if you b*ggers don't stop it I'll come round your house and knock your heads together.

More importantly if you lot spoil it for me I will definitely knock your heads together - I Have Gills permission to go and watch it, I love the music, the story is just a sideline --- similar to the first Mama Mia, brilliant music, soso plot hugely enjoyable. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

We have opinions my friend! And we'll keep debating to the end! We have opinions, we have opinions! No time for critics cos we have opinions... of our own!
