LED Front Side light replacement-5Hz Flashing; Any update??

Looking to replace these, can it be done with a ballast resistor, or is it still not possible, or am I being a bit thick?

Did a search and there is a lot on indicators but nothing specific on the 5Hz flashing of the side lights due to the self bulb check malarky.

TIA
Mike

Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

I have just come in to search that as i have recieved some LED in the post myself and am getting the flashing Rolling Eyes

i presume we would be needing a resitor, but i think i will just get the normal xenon look bulbs

I would also like to know how to get in the number plate light fitting, they seem rock solid Thumbs Up

Will one of these fit in the boot light fitting or is it too big?

be carefull with ultraleds, they don't have the best customer service,

http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/u42ww6-42mm-war...-1385.html

I got the above from them, they fitted alright, but have started flashing and its been less than a year since they was fitted Rolling Eyes

i got some from gxxleds on eBay shops,

they are not as bright as the Ultraleds ones, but will do for now

I got these for the sidelights (the ones that flash) and using them in all the other w5w bulbs too, could have done with more side output instead of front Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

i used them and had no problem

i read over on Disco3 that a chap gave his secretary £40 worth of bulbs to send back, as soon as UL found out about the fact they didn't send them registered, he suddenly hadn't received them, he also sent emails to people who complained, which content was very unprofessional to say they least

The fact that mine haven't lasted very long, talking 3 identical bulbs all fitted at the same time, leads me to think the quality isn't very good either Rolling Eyes

GXX seem to have some high power festoon lights, which look alot brighter than the ones i got from them (mine have about 8 tiny leds in a glass tube), and they are only a little more expensive Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Looking at their e-bay page the 9 led ones like the ones you have used appear to have a ballast resistor built in if you look at the pictures half way down the page.

Here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-9-LED-WHITE-501-W...m153.l1262

I wonder whether they will work in the side lights without flashing or modding the wiring Idea

mine has the same setup just less bulbs, and say they are for side lights too

the 9bulb seems to be a little wider too...... will it fit in the holder? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
