United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Orkney Grey

Why you have to sigh in with different amazon a/c after restoring to factory?
I didn't use Beast or Wookie lite only Javis and exodus add on, do they offer something better?

You don't have to but I just signed in with a made up Amazon account in case they ever get funny about using Kodi on the fire stick/tv/tablet. If any of my mates want one, I just tell them to buy a new unregistered one and I swap it with mine so that I've always got the latest model, plus, I don't want them ordering anything from Amazon on my account!

I'm no techie expert by any means and I may be using the wrong terminology but from what I understand Kodi (either Jarvis or the latest version, Krypton) is just the non-Amazon app that allows non-Amazon content to be used. Exodus is is non-Amazon programme that runs on Kodi. Wookie, Beast plus many others are just customised 'builds'. Load a 'build' on and when you open Kodi, it goes straight into the build with a whole host of other menus and sub-menus - videos, music, kids, fitness, Exodus, UK Turks, SALTS, Phoenix, sports etc, etc. Try it, you'll definately like it.

Just upgraded to the full Wookie build on my fire TV (a bit too 'clunky' on the fire stick). Works well.

Also, in case you didn't know, it's just as easy to install Kodi and then Wookie on a windows 10 PC/Laptop. Thumbs Up

So, I have Wookie Lite on my fire stick on the bedroom telly. Wookie full build on my lounge telly. Wookie Lite on my fire tablet and Wookie full build on my home laptop and work PC.

I'll never miss another programme again! Laughing Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Spotted this online: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.independe...html%3Famp

I'm not taking the word of the press for it. I'm waiting for the Act to appear online so I can read it for myself and see if it actually mentions streaming as being an offence. Previously it's all been about downloading. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

The Act has been published and the wording is typically vague.

S.32 talks of amendments to The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. It now says using illicit recordings which is arguably streaming because you would be using a recording held elsewhere when streaming. It makes more of an issue out of making a gain from it though and they are talking proper gains rather than Joe Public saving a fiver over buying a DVD. No explanatory notes yet but a quick bit of research revealed this:

"Even those that knowingly torrent the latest episode of their favourite show -- the kind of pirate the "educational" notices sent by ISPs under the relatively new Voluntary Copyright Alert Programme are supposed to deter -- aren't at risk, apparently. The government insists the longer potential jail term is targeted at the root of the problem: The pirates that leak and distribute copyright-infringing material the general public subsequently consume." LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

How are you getting on with your fire stick, Doc? I've found it's been a bit hit and miss lately. I've just updated to kodi 17.4 and tried out a new build - No Limits Magic. Installed the full version on my fire tv and the lite version on my fire stick. Works fine at the moment. Incidentally, I have a cheap Fire tablet 7 (only £35 at the moment) and I've installed kodi and No Limits Lite on that too with no problems. You can also install showbox onto that and as well as streaming films, you can actually download films to watch offline if you want (can only store a couple - if you want to store more you'd be better off with the Fire HD 8 tablet with bigger storage capacity) but that will probably be breaking some law or another so I couldn't possibly advise you to do that.

It's fine Steve but not watched much TV of late. I keep sneaking in the odd episode of Vikings that I'm watching via Amazon Prime but I don't watch much on Kodi at all. I watch a few films every so often but more recent releases are either footage shot by someone in the cinema on their phone Laughing or they have Chinese subtitles! LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

True. But they are good for looking up older films, watching past and present TV series shown on mainstream tv, Amazon or Netflix etc.

Just a heads up if anyone is interested - the Fire TV sticks are currently £25 instead of £40 on Amazon and Argos at the moment. So easy to load kodi builds onto them, even for numpties like me! : Laughing Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Just to update this thread. I’ve recently invested in a Firestick 4K whilst on special offer (£29.99). Definitely a lot quicker than my old stick plus it has the bonus of tv volume on it. A while ago, I took up a Black Friday offer of a VPN (NordVPN), bought through TopCashback so will eventually cost about. £50 for 27 months. You can use it on up to 6 devices so would work out cheap if you shared with a couple of friends.. That helps when watching some live sports streams from USA by choosing a USA vpn. Just last week though, I tried a months REAL DEBRID subscription and WOW WOW WOW! The films and series this opens up is just amazing. Many in HD and absolutely no buffering. One month cost just £3.60 but when that finishes I’ll get a 6 month package for £14.50. You can use that on multiple devices but only if they are on the same network. Try sharing that with a friend and you’ll be blocked. If you just sign up to real-debrid you can get free access to real debrid content but only at silly times between 5 and 11 am but worth it if you want to test it out.

Oh, I don’t use kodi 'builds' any more - got fed up with them updating every time you switched them on plus you’re only using 5% of the build and the rest just slows things down. I just run kodi with the channels I want. I’m currently using C:\>GOTO for films, tv and sports as well as RISING TIDES for live football and motor racing and THE CREW for films too. Current favourite Apps of mine are UKTURKS and MOBDRO.

All of this dead easy to load and there plenty of info on YouTube to follow. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
