Well I've just replaced the full beams for the Phlips Extremes. I can tell that they are a really bright bulb.....however, if it's luck of the draw with allignment then I'm on the downside on this one as they are definitely pointing to the floor too much. The adjustment with the scroll wheel is already pointing them up as much as possible (and that's just to allow for load anyway of course) so does anyone know what a dealer adjusts to get better alignment. Like I have read, I could tweak the 10mm bolts in my favour but surely there's more to it than that. Anyone know?

It's an MOT check so any garage carrying out this could do it for you, do you have a local small 'rough but good' garage near you? Got to worth half an hours labour (£15/£20 +/-)

Well I feel a bit of a prat. I had a look and discovered the two hexagonal adjusters for the headlamps and raised the height but while this brought the full beam up, it of course brought the dipped beam up unacceptably high....and though I didn't touch it I assume the second adjuster is for convergence. So I thought something can't be right here...so pulled the light assembly out again and discovered that although the bulbs were "home" they were in effect installed incorrectly effectvely knocking them 2-3 mm out. Which makes one hell of a difference! (I'd caused this by putting the bulb in it's carraige holder then installing as one, rather than sitting the bulb in the recess then putting holder to it) So, with the bulbs sitting properly this time and havng counted the adjuster turns before, meaning I could reset them back to where they were. Bingo!!!

Am very pleased with the result.

I've fitted the slightly higher rated 5000k Philips diamond vision bulbs and for £40 I can tell you they are very, very good. Thumbs Up Looks like you get the sidelights free with the H7 bulbs like I did.
One set for normal headlamps (dipped beam) and another if you need them for the main beam.

Just to throw my two pennyworth in. Maybe I am blind, but I have factory Xenons on my Disco and Philips exteme bulds in the side lights and main beam and it looks exactly the same as Haolgen, but cold blue. I cant say I notice any difference with Xenons apart from 1k differnce in price.

Disco are great to fit, the air suspension/self levelling means you can whip the headlights on and off without resetting the beams. A 5 min job with a tea break thrown in.

'Not road legal'....don't know why it says that as they are still not as bright as Xenon but almost as good Thumbs Up
