Range Rover Sport but garage is unfortunately too small & street parking is far too difficult. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

We went to look at new Forester in Oct and I was ready to buy one but wife who uses the car every day didn't like it , said it looked more of an estate car .
Ended up with an evoque. FL2 gone now in 2016 Discovery 4 Loire Blue .

The rear visibility is really poor in an Evoque I found

England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black

i had one of the earlier sportages, with an auto box 6 months old ex demo on a 55 plate. I found it to be pretty good and took it on a green lane day in the peak district. Surprisingly very very good on the lanes and surprised a lot of people there.

I later test drove one of the newer style sportage (11 plate I think it was) and it was a whole leap up in build quality and comfort.

Kia are a very underrated manufacturer, and for 15-20k budget you should get a fairly new model sportage or sorento. They also hold their value a lot better these days, not as slow to depreciate as a LR but not bad. and with the balance of a 7 year/100k warranty

Have you considered a VW Tiguan?

My other half has one and it's a good car in my opinion, the 4WD works quite well, I pulled a trailer with about 1,100kg of building materials up one of our paddocks, it's quite a slope and it was wet grass, road tyres too.

I have been in the back of the new Sportage, and I found the suspension very harsh and felt every bump on the motorway we were on, build quality was better though Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Tiguan/Yeti good but a bit smaller than a Freelander.
Sportage/Tucson good but materials bit cheap while they have gone expensive (had the old model tucson very good in the snow).
XC 60/Kuga are Freelander clones underneath.
Antara cheap for a lot of metal but not sure if they are any good very mixed reviews, Chevolet version has 7 seats
I have the same dilemma but I am coming down from a Range Rover as want more reliability!!

LOVE my FL2 but SWMBO has just replaced hers with an Evoque.

Shh, but I have to admit it's a lovely vehicle. More carlike to drive but if I don't like the new Defender when it comes out, I will probably replace my FL2 with one as well.

Every time I look at other marques, I end up thinking "Nice.....but it's not a Land Rover."

There is no other car that makes a dog so happy to be in the back of...

I have owned LRs for 30 years now and still have my Series 2A. That is the one car that will never be sold but even I have to admit, comfort is not high on its list of features, although it does have heated front windscreens. Very Happy

Buy it , keep it three years buy a new one.

Still less than the loss on a Discovery Sport?

So purely financially they make sense but ................................
