Did you know that autoexpress has already driven and reviewed the pre-production LRX?

also, freelander 2 has won the 2008 autoexpress new car honours for compact suv. Phil

Fast FReelander 2....I got you right from the start Tim, it's just these post whores who don't normally read threads before replying taht didn't get it Laughing

TTC, nice pics.

It does look great, and for those that complain of the glare off of the gear lever surround in the FL2 will get sunburn off of that one in the LRX Very Happy

I see no reason why most of the exterior couln't go into production, except the mirrors which will hopefully not be huge like the FL2's! On the inside the display may well stay similar i.e. all digital, the gear lever would hopefully stay where it is, but the rest of the trim will come down to earth....IMHO Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!

New euro regs call for huge mirrors, just watch out for the elephant ears on the facelifted Audi A3's..not popular on the Audi forum Confused

I like the look of the LRX and would buy one aslong as the interior is toned down, which as you have all said is going to have to happen to make sensible production costs.
I've never worked out the need for split fold down tailgates they just make it harder to reach the rear of boot space, Ok they make a great seat but how often will you want to sit there? At work

Or put your van on the towbar, open the lower tailgate down onto the vans handbrake and/or jockey wheel handle = crunch followed by Censored followed by repair bill Laughing . So in short LRX = a non vaners car Rolling with laughter

Same could be said about defenders as its near impossible to get in the back door while you have a trailer attached..cured by steering sharply right so jackknifing the trailer allowing space to open the door At work
