 Hi all, been reading about faulty diffs. Went out jacked up rear nearside wheel, turned wheel by hand turned quitèabit, very clunky , noticed lot of play where shaft enters diff. Should I be worried! | ||

Its a 58 plate 90k maybe take it to lr have them look at it. Had a disco1 before fl2 ,was easy to work on fl2 not so easy , getting old! | ||

| pab Member Since: 28 Aug 2012 Location: Now in Mid-Wales Posts: 2007      | The LR docs don't seem to specify a minimum torque transfer explicitly, but they make various references to no torque transfer or torque dropping to zero for both Gen 3 and Gen 4 Haldex. Thus, I think that torque transfer can be zero (or as close to it as makes no difference) for all FL2s whatever their Haldex gen or MY. | ||

| pab Member Since: 28 Aug 2012 Location: Now in Mid-Wales Posts: 2007      | The swash system in the Gen 3 drives the hydraulic pump and generates the hydraulic pressure (Gen 4 uses an electric pump), but the control module and control valving will ultimately determine whether that pressure gets to the clutch plates. But, of course, a speed differential across the Haldex is exactly when the Haldex will engage, in pretty much any mode and circumstances. | ||
