United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Orkney Grey

Thank Past master I haven't got a spare wheel and am looking for one.
Today Lloyd Carlisle fitted all 4 tyres with Pirelli Scorpion Verde All seasons. On the way back the 45 miles trip returned average 47.7 MPG. The drive was much better with these new tyres and happy with Lloyd Carlisle for their customer service.

Usually a fair number of wheels come up on here or on e-bay, although quite often in 4s. Used to be easier when they all had more or less standard wheels! If you don't mind having a different pattern then almost any will do, although I'd prefer myself at least to have the same size (all have the same diameter with tyres fitted though - the standard steel spare is 17" for all models). Just keep an eye open and I'm sure one will come up (several on e-bay at the moment). I have in the past bought a cheap set of four and sold the ones I didn't need.
Bear in mind that FR1 wheels DO NOT fit. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

I am looking for one that has the same wheel pattern as my fl2. There is one on eBay 18" wheel + Pirelli tyre that from an evoque, different wheel pattern, and he agreed £100 but I didn't get. I keep the 2 old tyres which has 4-5 mm tread now only need a rim.
@ Jim NI : the dealer changed the tyres after bought it then deliver to me later. Anyway it ends well and I am happy. Very Happy

Whether it's true or not in future I will play safe to change all four of the same tyres to the fl2.

Interesting but still do not believe that link fully. It is rolling radius that matters not circumference, and that varies with load, bumps in the road, going round corners etc, which I am sure varies more than a few mm on new:used tyres.

Also on FL2 it runs in 2WD mostly unless it detects slip, when the haldex kicks in rearwheels.

I thought that only fl2 eD is 2 wheels drive, the rest is permanently 4x4.

No Paxman - unless you go into special programmes, the car is MAINLY 2WD. 4WD kicks in whenever it's needed, eg starting in a straight line, or when wheelslip is detected. Basically, it's a very clever machine. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

If you want to believe your own eyes then go to a friendly tyre retailer and put a couple different brand side by side of the same size and see for yourself the variance in width and height!

Before the new set of tyres I experienced engine vibration when trying to pull away at 25-35 MPH in high gear (5th). The vibration was from the engine which amplifies by the console plastic in the middle and below the wind screen. The symptom disappeared as soon as I have the new set. Clearly the budget tyres in the front was the cause for both vibration and low MPG. Before I was getting 36mpg compared to 41 mpg now.
I will try to rotate the tyres for even wear then replace all four when the time come.

I also agree that tyres should be matched. The vibration that paxman was experiencing is similar to a problem that I was helping a local garage out with.
They had sold a Freel2 and the customer kept complaining of a vibration at light throttle low speed. We spent several hours investigating EGR and fuelling problems and eventually changed the two rear tyres to match the front set and the vibration/jerkyness went away.
We concluded that the pressure sensor in the haldex adjusts the ECU to compensate for what it thinks is wheel slip and causes the vibration.
Tyres have always been a key feature of a 4WD and I always use matched tyres with matched tread depth. Jaguar x-type sport gone
