2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey
Cenral locking broken after 2 months and 3000 miles!

Hi all,

I have a two month old Freelander 2 HSE with less than 3000 miles on the clock. Already the central locking system doesn't work properly as the front passenger door will not lock when the button is pressed. Now i cannot lock the door at all meaning that it is always unlocked. Anyone else had similar problems? I am in Ukraine so would rather avoid having to take it to a dealer if possible. I don't hear the solenoid click when the button is pressed but the passenger rear view mirror does retract.

Please pm me if you can help!!!!

Regards,

Nick

Sorry to say but I think this is one for the dealer. My FL2 has been dogged with minor issues like this one and think I am now at the end of a long list.
That said I do think mine is an unusual case.

sounds like a trip to the dealer, I presume your not wanting to go there due to the distance you'll have to travel

Do you have the Landrover Assistance in the Ukraine? If so give them a call Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Or most likely the quality of the mechanics Big Cry

My LR2 has 8000km's in just over 3 months and only have a fan noise that needs sorting, but other than that absolutely nothing has gone wrong.

It maybe something left loose or something, but would definately suggest taking it in to the dealer. Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!

Well,

A trip to the dealer (i have one in Ukraine 10km from me) and the problem was sorted out in a couple of hours. A new door lock replaced FOC under warranty and no hassle.

Thanks for all the help,

Nick

It's all gone wrong in my car today. Firstly the fuel indercator was showing empty, I have a full tank! then when I get hom can't lock the car! Went and got the other fob locked the car. Then tried to open the car again both fobs nothing. This has all happened in one day and is the only problem I've had. Anyone else out there with this

I've had the fuel gauge issue but then so have lots of people. Mine was fixed on Tuesday allegedly.
Locking one is odd - do the keys still start the car?
Either way - sounds like a job for LR Assistance. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

I have had the fuel side of it, which sorted itself out after a restart

The keyfob that suddenly stops working, is getting sorted when the replacement keyfob comes in to the dealer, but the spare key works perfectly.

Guess you'll have to call LR assistance out Mad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
