Rear bumper reflector

To my extreme irritation, one of the red reflector strips (the left, as it happens) has dropped off my rear bumper, probably while offroading last weekend. I am unimpressed as I am not sure that bits should drop off the car when it goes over bumps ..Evil or Very Mad

Called the dealer, they said they would call back...and........

Will call the dealer again today, but does anyone know where to source these, to save me half a day off work to pick up a small piece of plastic? [/b]

speak to either

The Parts department at the site sponsor Charles Hurst (Mention Freel2)

or

The parts manager Nick at Yeovil Landrover (his known as "the large One" on Disco3 who sorts discounted parts out and postage is normally next to nothing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for the tip about Yeovil, npinks. At the risk of offending the site sponsors, the dealer I am unable to get hold of is actually Charles Hurst in London, the place where I bought her. I am completely satisfied with FL2 as a purchase, and buying one could not have been easier. However, I left an unanswered message with a human being at the w/e and today was put through to two separate answerphones. Hardly a luxury brand experience, to be honest. God help me if anything serious was actually to go wrong, my experience of aftersales care so far has been less than stellar. Sad

Can anyone recommend a dealer who can actually be bothered? I know it is only a little bit of plastic, but once I find someone who looks after me properly, I tend to buy other things, like roof-racks, towbars, servicing, repairs, new cars and all that good stuff.

Ideas, anyone?

Islander,

Don't know if its any consolation but I have previously lost a rear reflector while off roading. However dealer being just 4 miles from me made life a bit easier. Think I was told it’s the same part as for a RRSport, anyway replacement found off the shelf for about £15. It’s just a push fit which takes about 5 seconds

Thumbs Up

Price is a bit steep for a reflector that can just drop off when it likes Shocked Maybe there is another reason they drop-off (not correctly secured to begin with) Question 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

I would take exception to paying for a part that drops off an off road vehicle off road Shocked

Rear reflector, a happy ending in sight?

Thanks for all the feedback, gentlemen Thumbs Up . The tip about Yeovil was particularly good, the phone was answered second ring, I spoke to a very helpful and polite chap called Stuart in the parts department and he has agreed to post out the part. According to your advice, even a mechanic as poor as me should be able to push-fit the new one. A very different experience to shopping in London, I am sorry to say.

If the new one drops off again, I will take it up with Land Rover under the terms of the warranty.

Yeovil came up trumps. The correct part arrived exactly as promised, it was a five second job to fit it, thanks for all of the advice, everyone, and thanks to Yeovil Land Rover. Very Happy
