ronp's FL2 modifications thread.

OK, so picked up my Freelander 2 yesterday and absolutely delighted with it.
It's a Dec 2010 GS with only 12,900 miles on the clock.
I would've preferred a newer and higher specced FL2, but just couldn't ignore this one, especially as I only gave myself one colour choice - grey, so it's Lago Grey!
The car is just like new, I can't find anything wrong with it and no dings, dents, scratches, tears etc anywhere, it's immaculate.
So reckon I got myself a real bargain and an absolute cracker for my planned modifications.

I'll update this thread over time with each modification I do, heck there's going to be plenty of them.
Thought Christmas had come early with all the boxes and packages that have been arriving over recent days.
So next post will be the mods I've started today. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

First mod
Due to lack of central storage and somewhere to rest my weary arm, got myself a cubby box with real soft leather armrest.

before

after

Then fitted brushed aluminium trim

before

after

Then, because it was raining thought I'd go outside and work on my rear end.
Remeoved the dull chrome badging and replaced the FL2 with black lettering.
Don't want to advertise my car as a TD4 GS, but didn't want to call it something it wasn't.
I like to be a bit unique so plumped for RPS - RP = my initials, S = Special
[realise this may not be to everyones taste, but that's modding LR's for you]

Also fitted rear mudflaps.

before

after

So, enough for one day! FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Well today got my windows tinted.
Didn't do it myself and it allowed me time to do some work. Rolling Eyes

Also got the front mud flaps fitted.
Got a great buy on them - £37.99 for the full set of 4 .......
.... and they are genuine Land Rover!

I think I'm going to enjoy this thread!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did the tint cost and what % did you go for?

It sells as 20% (but actually is 17% )
This is around the shade that comes from the factory ( so he said).
But there is darker shade = Limo .... but you need to deal in drugs to qualify. Laughing
Cost was £170.
