STEERING RACK

Well its been a good friday alright. Having had a load banging from the rack, loud squeeling from the pump etc all is fine now.
Spent today with a friend replacing the rack, pump and oil filter resivour. Car went in a while back with steering problems and all they did was to replace the steering oil filter resivour.
Ive done 500 miles with a whine on the pump ever since I had it back from the steelers then the load banging started on the rack when turning the steering wheel. As I drained the oil resivour there was a lot of metal bits in there and I feel the pump and rack should of been changed at the same time.
Having replaced all these items I now know that the job has been done correctly and no more Censored from the steelers,
all thats left to do is get the tracking checked and adjusted SORTED.

Good to here! Mine is all ok now touch wood. There was a batch of faulty pumps around too, that would just loose preasure. But hopefully you have a good un!

Had my wheels alligned the other day, and well worth the £44 to get it correct, mine was ever so slightly out after having mine done

Hi, Did you have to lower the subframe to get the steering rack off?
