Rubbed down the rear diff cradle with a wire brush and undersealed it. Along with any other bits of surface rust I came across.
Top tip > To avoid spraying anything other than the part you need protecting, such as brake hoses , haldex or diff, I find that regular household tin foil works far better than masking tape and paper. It conforms to whatever you need to protect and comes off easier too when you've finished. Its cheap too. Thumbs Up

Similar thought process here today, needs a good hoovering out as I had to put the dog in the front while transporting something with the tailgate open... I looked at the rain through the window, lit the fire and started watching re runs of wheeler dealer instead.

Caught up a bit on some jobs where prevention would have been better - ages ago I went spending on PowerfulUK and had left the goodies on the bench... have finally now fitted very bright LED puddle lights in the doors and mirrors, ideal for detecting those otherwise invisible puppy number twos on the driveway in the dark!

I’ve also now changed out the tailgate lift struts - classic gradual deterioration going unnoticed until bothering to make the change.. another I should have done months and a few banged foreheads ago before now...

No sooner had I tested the new puddle lights and left the car for a cuppa, the alarm went off uncommanded yet again, another job due months ago, so I ceased putting off the inevitable and administered the paper clip treatment to the bonnet sensor.

All perfectly timed for the car to sit idle as Tier 4 fell on us yesterday - so today the C-Tek trickle charger comes out again... Lexus RX450H - 500 mile a week commuter- I just couldn’t trust in a newer RRS or DS for that….
2009 Freelander 2 HSE... 155K miles, we’ve done 135k of those, has done brilliantly on the commute and staying firmly put as car two in the household
2002 Jaguar XK8 Coupe... fun, fast, ours for 12 years and owes us nothing - so staying with us too…
